What Makes a Home Desirable?

Posted to Jennifer Spadea-Keating

I often wonder what homebuyers look for in a neighborhood. Being a Realtor, I am on "the other side of the fence," helping buyers make the largest purchase of their lives. I think what buyers are looking for in a neighborhood varies from buyer to buyer, depending on their needs and priorities. Maybe being close to family is important? Or, proximity to beaches, shopping, etc? Commuters obviously look for proximity to major routes. I have noticed over the years most people are not "on the fence" when it comes to rural vs. high density locations. People tend to either make privacy or central locations (such as Onset Village) a priority. Being a Realtor for Jack Conway in Wareham, I have the benefit of knowing the ins and outs of all the neighborhoods in town, and all they have to offer. I have noticed that Wareham is very diverse and many neighborhoods are associations, partly because they are located in beach communities. Community involvement is large in Wareham, more so than in other towns, which makes all neighborhoods in Wareham desirable. For all of your Buying and Selling needs, you can find me at Conway-Wareham, 508-317-6636.
